Somerville Secondary College Student Services offers a holistic approach to the wellbeing of its students. The College incorporates in its Pastoral Care Program a Restorative Justice approach to student management, and Counselling for the social emotional wellbeing of the students. There are programs like the Martial Arts Program , Hands On Learning Program , Community Projects Skate & Create and Breakfast Club all designed to support the wellbeing of students who may have varying issues such as anger management, problems resolving conflict, lack of self-esteem and self confidence, dis-engagement and connectedness to school . Workshops are facilitated by a chaplain and youth worker to address issues that are relevant to adolescents today, like body image, binge drinking, safe partying bullying and cyber bullying. There is also the opportunity for one on one counselling sessions for students to help navigate through the above issues reflecting analysing, and developing strategies to become resilient, independent engaged, motivated young people looking for positive outcomes and experiences.
